New Year, But Happy?

December 2010 was a very hectic month for me. I had given notice to vacate my 2-year abode and as the year drew to a close I still did not know where I was going to stay and neither did I want to extend my stay at that flat. In addition, I bounced an orientation day for graduate school - because someone thought it wise to send a date change notification by snail mail. (That letter is still awaiting delivery a month later!)

This should have been a month of holidays but as the calendar would have it, all holidays fell on weekends and our Mr Mutua was not in a philanthropic mood. Having cleared all my leave days earlier in the year in pursuit of an education, my only reprieve came with the suspension of a dressing code for the later half of the month. It sure felt like home going to work in jeans.

Well January is here and fast drawing to a close! I moved out - with all its attendant drama, school is officially on from next week - Tuesday to Friday, and am still fatigued from all the work related to moving out and in. I go to work for the first time this year tomorrow and am already dreading the rush of things to do in so little time.

However, from the little reading I managed to do this past month, I gleaned 2 very important phrases - "This too shall pass" and "I will be master of my emotions" and I may add, 'I will bring the love of the game to the game'.

My motto for the new year is "I have the will, show me the way." Nothing is impossible for the one who is willing to find a way to get it done. So much has to be done this year and I am determined that most of that will happen within me.
