Happy 150th Kúi’s Musings!

It has been 150 Fridays of sharing my random thoughts about random issues.

On this journey, I know a handful of people who have been with this blog from the start. Those make me sweat on Thursday if I have not put my thoughts together. Some have been my greatest ‘marketers’ and supporters – especially when the stats made me want to quit. Thanks for every comment, every feedback, every click. You’re the reason I’m still writing.

Random facts about the number 150?

§  The average gestation period of a goat is 150 days.

§  The word for the 150th anniversary of something is sesquicentenary.

§  Research shows that smartphone users check them an average of 150 times a day.

§  The 150th most common word in the King James Bible is ‘again’.

§   There are 150 places called Newton in the UK.

Absolutely random and possibly useless facts, thank you very much.

How did I do it you may ask?

I committed to keep my annual commitment – 52 posts in the first year, then another 53, and this year I’m at 45 of 52.

I take it one blog at a time. I have yet to prepare a month in advance. Most days I work on it a few hours before posting time. One random musing after the other.

It takes commitment and consistency, and anyone can do it if they practice those disciplines.

That and having a bunch of crazy friends who forever keep tripping me up with pedestals I don’t deserve!

As of today, I only commit to being back next Friday. God willing.

Happy ‘whatever’ this is and a great week ahead.

Horse and Buggy Days

One of the verses I’d read had put me in that frame of mind and I rested there a while before reality called me back. The verse was from Habakkuk 3:2, which reads “Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” (NIV) I had been reading a news article before I read my Bible that day, and it’s easy to see why that verse jumped out at me and sent me into the land of Nostalgia.
