The Moon Rise
"Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed." ~ Paulo Coelho, The Devil and Miss Prym
I watched the last moon rise of 2020 with awe. She came up, bit by bit, round, huge and white. Like she's always done. Meanwhile, the crickets and the stars were also beginning their part of the daily show.
We're the only ones who stopped in 2020. Nature and it's Creator carried on. The seasons changed when they should have, but for us. . .reggae was paused.
And the clock kept ticking and we're now in 2021. Happy New Year. It is however a "new beginning" like none I've had before. This is one I'm not excited to be part of. Fear of the unknown has stalked me into the new year.
I finally got some goals down but they are not audacious and 'gynormous' as Lisa Nichols advised me to set them. However, one thing 2020 taught me is the value of consistency and regular execution and review.
So my promise to 2021 is that just as the moon never went into lockdown, my mind will remain free. Those things that are within my power to do, I will show up and do. And as I review achievements, I will celebrate, recalibrate, and set new ones.
Define what you want to achieve, keep your eyes open as you aim at your target and show up consistently. Keep moving, one step at a time.
