Are You Committed?

“ We cannot be sure of having something to live for unless we are willing to die for it. ” ~ Che Guevara In less than 48 hours we’ll all be either taking out the hankies to wish a teary-eyed goodbye to 2022 or sweeping it away with the biggest brooms we can find as we wish it’s passing good riddance. I’ll be in neither camp – I’ll go to bed at my usual 10 pm, say my prayers for a restful night, and hope to wake up to another day. It doesn’t matter either way because I can’t change what’s already been so I’m better off saving my energy for what is yet to come. You will probably have reviewed your year by now and set your goals for the next one or will be doing that in the next week or so. If you’re anything like the majority of people, you will have made resolutions for the next year. Motivation usually runs high in January as the collective psyche of humanity starts with grand intentions – to make this your best year yet. But, we all know that that motivation does not...

Serene Christmas

Image
Merry Christmas to you and yours. It is finally here and with that, the year 2022 is packing up its bags for its trip out. All I want for Christmas this year is serenity. The chaos of people not keeping their word and turning the tables on your plans for their lack of integrity. The chaos of a worldwide economy in a tailspin. The chaos of lives lost, too many, too close with too little time to grieve before another one is lost. The chaos of days tumbling over one another too fast, time running, things ch...

“ The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes. ” ~ Winston S. Churchill Today I will tell you a fable about a tiger, a donkey, and a lion. Once upon a time, a tiger got into an argument about the color of grass. The donkey said that the grass is blue while the tiger said that the grass is green. Soon the argument became heated to the point that they both agreed to submit the issue to arbitration. They approached the king of the jungle, the lion, with their case. As they got close, the donkey began shouting, “Your Highness, isn’t it true that grass is blue?” The lion replied, “If you believe it, then it is.” The donkey continued, “Tiger disagrees with me! He says the grass is green. Please punish him.” The lion declared that the tiger would be punished with three days of silence. On hearing this, the donkey jumped for joy and went his merry way, shouting “the grass is blue, the grass is blue.” They watched the donkey until he disa...
