The Best Year of Your Life

Image
“ Any new beginning is forged from the shards of the past, not from the abandonment of the past. ” ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough Goodbye 2021 as of midnight tonight. I’m glad you came, I’m glad you’re leaving. As I reflect on what the past year has been, one person who has influenced my year significantly has been Hal Elrod. I was introduced to Hal’s book – The Miracle Morning, in June 2021 and the Miracle Morning routine has been a significant game changer to how my life has shaped up in the last half of 2021. Walk Away

Merry Christmas to y’all! It’s finally here – the day that some people I know have been counting down to, all year. As for me, meeeeh. . .it’s just another day as I count down to the end of 2021. As I look at what I want to achieve in 2022 (including another 52 episodes of Kui’s Musings) [2] I will be carrying some luggage into 2022 and offloading some in 2021. Who’s being left? Some people who no longer walk in the spaces I want to be in and are eve...

Life Is Like A River

Image
“ While the river of life glides along smoothly, it remains the same river, only the landscape on either bank seems to change. ” ~ Max Muller In an article by Paulo Coelho, he wrote: “Hollows call for patience. All of a sudden the river enters a sort of hole and stops running as joyfully as before. At such moments the only way out is to count on the help of time. When the right moment comes, the hollow fills up and the water can flow ahead. In the place of the ugly, lifeless hole, there now stands a lake that others can contemplate with joy.” This past Monday, I got plunged into a hollow that had the capacity to suck me up and sink me deep if it had not been for the prayers and support of a few close friends and family. It was also a very reflective week as I was working on my annual planner. As I went through my journal entries of this year, I looked back on the other holes, peaks, valleys and obstacles and everything that’s been in my way all year through. It was defini...
